Luca Vero, a Canadian shoe company based in Montreal, was created five years ago primarily due to the lack of a very comfortable, affordable fashion shoe made out of 100 percent leather in the marketplace.

We previously existed as a company specializing in medium-to-high-end men's fashion at the retail level under a different name. We were well-known mainly for our suits and also for our fashionable European sportswear. Our client base generally believed that a 100 percent pure leather shoe (including the sole) was quite expensive and manufactured mostly by the big, iconic fashion houses, such as BOSS, GUCCI, PRADA and such.

Although most men know that a pure leather shoe is the way to go for its durability and natural breathability, they were always apprehensive about its comfort level for those working or standing for long periods of time. The most affordable method of manufacturing a shoe is to utilize a rubber sole, featuring a usually low-grade leather upper and this was what consumers have assumed about shoe comfort.  

While average prices for the above products are very affordable, it mattered not, until now, about the durability of these products, which were replaced annually or sooner. The only alternative was good-quality shoes, featuring specialized comfort system inserts and rubber soles. These are marketed by renowned brands, although in reality they are not fashion-forward at all. They are, in fact, bulkier and much more expensive than average rubber-soled shoes.

Men’s fashion has evolved tremendously the past five years, with shoes becoming much sleeker and better-fitted. Most of the aforementioned products are, unfortunately, not compatible in image or design. They are still too bulky, wide and rubber-soled.

This is where our small company comes into play. Out of personal need and that of our clients, we have adapted what we consider an excellent hand-made, hand-dyed, virtually 100 percent leather product, including soles, at affordable prices and with unsurpassed comfort. Over 80 percent of our models are pure leather shoes, except our sport models, which are a combination of both leather and manmade product.

Our trademarked comfort sock is made of special medical-grade memory foam that has been developed for us and varies in height depending on the model. It is wrapped in pure leather and is 100 percent breathable.
We offer great orthopedic comfort in a very fashion-forward design rarely found in this class of products.
